If you preloaded Grim Fandango to your PS4, whether of your own volition or your game-box did it automatically, you might be in for a problem.
The game, although released today, displays a countdown showing that it won’t unlock until tomorrow. Sony has given a suggestion to fix this, and the instructions are as follows:
- Return to the PS4 store and purchase the free version of the game (this SKU will only be visible to pre-order users at around 9pm PST.) Purchase the SKU only, do not re-download at this point.
- Restore PS4 licenses. [Settings] > [PSN] > [Restore License]. If this doesn’t solve the issue continue to step 3.
- Go to Library, highlight Grim Fandango and press Options.
- Delete Game Content.
- While still in the Library highlight Grim Fandango and press X to re-download the content.
- Restore licenses again.
Here’s the problem: This doesn’t fucking work. At least for me. If I try to re-download it, it just shows “play” on the store page instead of “download,” and selecting that gives a “cannot find application” error. So now I have no game on my console and no way to download it. My advice? Just wait until tomorrow. Of course, it might still be broken then. Great job.
